EARTHCARE – ZOOM – 1st & 3rd Wednesdays 2:30pm. Discussion/action group seeking spiritual and practical solutions to environmental concerns. HEALING SERVICE – FACEBOOK – A time for prayers for healing at the 10:30 service on 5th Sundays HOLLISTER INSTITUTE – ZOOM –Opportunities for stimulating discussion and thoughtful exploration. ABUNDANCE SHOP HOURS Hours of operation at the Abundance Shop, St. Benedict’s thrift store on 9th Street, are 11am-3pm Tuesday through Saturday. Donations of items to sell are only accepted between 11 and 2 Tuesday through Thursday. New volunteers are always welcome!
NOMINATIONS FOR PARISH COUNCIL and DELEGATES TO CONVENTION St. Ben’s Nominating Committee is seeking people to serve on the Parish Council (three 3-year terms and one 1-year term) and as Delegates to Diocesan Convention (3 delegates and 1 alternate). If you are interested in serving, or learning more about what it would mean, please speak to Michael Lucas, Lorienne Schwenk, or Diana Hammerlund.
BUDGET PLANNING for 2021: Our Budget Committee will be making financial projections for St. Benedict’s in 2021 based in part on what we have been told we can expect as pledge income. Please consider thoughtfully your level of financial support of St. Benedict’s in the coming year. Pledges may be made online at https://forms.gle/4CjhKdNoKTFag4QV7 or written pledge cards may be returned by mail, or you may simply email your pledge info to our treasurer, Lisa Gonzalez. BLUE CHRISTMAS SERVICE – Dec 19 The holiday season may bring up memories of the past, of loved ones lost, and reasons why this year is not especially bright. Please join us on Saturday, Dec 19 at 5:30 pm for a short simple service which acknowledges that Christmas can be a difficult time for those who feel at odds with or estranged from the general feeling of joy and happiness typically associated with this time of year. POINSETTIAS DEDICATIONS – If you would like to honor a loved one by contributing towards the cost of Christmas poinsettias, please email stefshuman@sbcglobal.net with the names and wording of your dedication (as in memory, thanksgiving, or honor) and send a donation to the church, marked “poinsettias.” Names will be printed in the Christmas Eve and Christmas Day worship bulletins. Suggested contribution is $10 each.
