About the Abundance Shop – Los Osos Nonprofit Thrift Store
The Abundance Shop is Los Osos’s only nonprofit secondhand thrift store, offering an affordable, welcoming place to shop and donate while helping keep usable items out of the landfill.
Located in the heart of Los Osos, California, the Abundance Shop is more than just a thrift store—it’s a friendly place to connect with neighbors and give back to the community. Every purchase supports the mission and ministry of St. Benedict’s and provides funding for local nonprofit organizations, selected by our dedicated volunteer team.
Local organizations supported in recent years include:

- Tolosa Children’s Dental Center
- Food Bank

💛 Donation Guidelines – What We Accept
Thank you for supporting our Los Osos nonprofit thrift store. To help us serve the community safely and efficiently, we accept the following clean, gently used donations:

- Clean, gently worn clothing, shoes & accessories
- Home décor items
- Small appliances (no microwaves, please)
- Books & CDs
- Craft supplies
- Games, puzzles & educational toys (complete sets only)
- Tools
❌ Items We Cannot Accept
For safety, space, and regulatory reasons, we are unable to accept:
- Desktop computers or large appliances
- Baby and child safety items
(car seats, cribs, strollers, high chairs, etc.) - Mattresses or bed pillows
- Textbooks, reference books, encyclopedias
- VHS tapes or personal cassette mixes
- Building materials, used fixtures, blinds, or bed frames
- Food, beverages, or used/empty food containers
- Used stuffed toys (only unused or collectible items accepted)
- Helmets of any kind or life vests
- Electronic medical devices
- Printer ink or toner cartridges
- Open cosmetics, toiletries, or cleaning supplies
