The Rev. Dr. Caroline (Caro) Hall is Rector (senior pastor) of St. Benedict’s. She loves to preach, teach and lead worship. One of her passions is helping people who feel excluded from Christian faith community because their beliefs don’t fit the mold, to realize that Christianity is a lot bigger and broader than they thought and that God’s abundant love is available to everyone. Her background is in social work, and non-profit management. Caro is English but has lived in the US for more than 35 years – most of them in Los Osos. She met her spouse at the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland where she lived for several years in the 1980s. Caro is the author of A Thorn in the Flesh: How Gay Sexuality is Changing the Episcopal Church. For many years, Caro was on the national board of Integrity USA, the national Episcopal ministry for LGBT and their loved ones. She currently serves as Board President of Los Osos Cares and is on the county Homeless Services Oversight Council. In 2022, she was named as Distinguished Woman of the Year for the 24th congressional district.
