Children & Youth
Children
On the second Sunday of each month, the 10:30 a.m. worship service is our special children’s day. The children join us for the beginning of the service and have a few minutes of conversation about one of the readings before processing to the meeting room. Then the service will continue with the rest of the Liturgy of the Word. Meanwhile, the children (and any adults who want to join them,) will have their own lesson and activities using an Episcopal curriculum based on the same reading. At the Peace they will rejoin us for communion.
Adult teachers will take three-month shifts leading children’s chapel. We hope that as more families join us, we can expand to two Sundays each month. Thanks to Pam Bleish Strawn for taking leadership in this.
Youth
We join with other parishes of the San Luis Obispo Deanery in sponsoring youth groups for middle school and high school youth, known as "Rite 13" and "J2A". These groups meet most of the day one Sunday a month at one of the deanery's parishes, including participation in that parish's Sunday morning worship. For more information, see the Deanery's youth web site.
